This is the kind of book you just want to keep for ever. It is in a very large format and has fantastic maps in a distinctive and intricate style, in a limited and subtle range of colours. It has 52 maps with information on geography, culture, people, animals, plants and more. There are loads of interesting details - it is more about the pictures than the words. When they eventually find out, the pages open up into a double sized spread showing what all the fuss was about. (Spoiler alert – they are all queuing up for a spectacular whale ride!) There is a lot of suspense along the way and points for discussion. There are subtle lessons about numbers, queueing properly and about relationships between species – and some sly humour. The illustrations are cleverly pitched, bring...
